Hey everyone, Grayson here. Just wanted to invite all of you to join us for a Type Zero Repack Draft on Saturday, 19 September 2009, beginning at noon (it's a Draft - you don't have to bring any cards) at Something to do in Oxmoor mall.
There are some great cards in the repacks (Badlands, Eureka, Old Man of the Sea and about thirty Betas, just to name a few) and even better prizes; $15 gets you in and Lunch (pizza) is on the house.
It should be a great time, hope to see you all there!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to introduce those of you not familiar to the format to Type Zero (Antiquity Magic), a nostalgic approach to playing M:TG. Basically, the primary idea behind this type is not just the banning and restricting of certain cards or sets of cards, but the reverting of the overall "feel" of the metagame to that of circa 1994. Type zero has been played and refined for about 5 years now, and seems to be as level a playing field as possible given the cards available. Older players will especially enjoy the format type, due to the slightly longer, more "back and forth" games which are reminiscent of times where games were fun and every deck was not just focused on "holding your opponent off with counterspells while you tutor for the one turn kill".

Tournaments are usually held at Something 2 Do in Oxmoor mall, (upcoming tourneys are posted at S2D, and in "Antiquity Magic Monthly", the T-0 monthly newsletter which can be found at most card shops in Louisville) but we are always looking to branch out to anywhere that will have us. So far I have given away hundreds of dollars in prizes and a Mox Jet, so if you're a competitive player you may want to test your skill with a new format.

To those of you that think T-0 would be grossly expensive, 3 of the top 4 decks in the format have no P9 at all, and less than 10 cards worth over $5. Plus, you never have to worry about facing "online" decks, because both the internet and competitive play were almost nonexistent in 1994. In other words, it's all about skill, and having an enjoyable time playing Magic again.

Attached are the rules to the format; again we are always looking for new players to join us and hopefully we can begin having larger tournaments throughout Louisville.

If anyone has any questions please email GSaint214@yahoo.com

Hope to see you all at the next one...
